Medical Emergencies Procedures

When you need an appointment with a doctor in Buenos Aires, you do usually go to the "CONSULTOROS EXTERNOS" in the morning (8:30 to 12:00). Later on the day, you can always find doctors at the GUARDIA MEDICA or URGENCIAS. I´m listing you a few of the finest clinics near your home. You should go to the reception and ask for a "médico clínico" / "dermatólogo" / "ginecólogo" / "traumatólogo" / "oftalmólogo" etc. You can ask your local "mothers" to go with you to the clinics. In case you don´t find them at home you can also contact Florencia Etiennot from Buenos Aires Homestays. Please do keep me posted in case of an emergency. Clinics accept "consultas privadas" ( you have to tell them that when they ask you for your "obra social") and most of the doctors speak English as well. As you´ll pay for the appointment and tests, we do suggest you to keep all receipts for payments to the doctor and for the prescribed drugs and antibiotics so that you can submit them to the insurance company upon your return for reimbursement. Take an ID with you when you go to the clinics.
